Implant Supported Dentures vs. Tradtional Dentures - Billings, MT
Effective Solutions for Full Arch Tooth Loss
Determining Your Options
If you have lost all or most of your teeth, you may be questioning which replacement solution is right for you. Traditional removable dentures are common because of their initial convenience, but many of our patients have recently turned to implant supported dentures. Implant supported dentures utilize anywhere from two to eight dental implants to securely attach a denture prosthesis to the jaw. Implant supported dentures drastically improve the stability of the denture and prevent jaw bone deterioration, unlike removable varieties. However, we understand that each patient is unique and so are their needs. That is why we offer both solutions, to help anyone restore the beauty and function of their smile.
Traditional Dentures
A removable prosthesis that mimics the look and function of natural teeth, dentures restore your face to a more natural appearance and provide biting and chewing function. Dentures are easily removed for cleaning and sleeping and are often held in place with adhesives or paste. Denture are initially a more affordable solution, but usually require replacement after a number of years.
Implant Supported Dentures
With implant supported dentures, a number of dental implants are placed within your jaw and a denture is securely “snapped” onto them. Implant supported dentures restore missing teeth much like traditional dentures, but they are more securely held in place, allow for a stronger biting and promote jaw bone health.
